K-12 Scope and Sequence Concept Flow Diagrams

There is a Conceptual Flow Diagram (CFD) for each of the seven Essential Principles and the four grade bands (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12).

Fundamental Concepts and Grade Bands

Each Essential Principle has several Fundamental Concepts associated with it. The Ocean Literacy Alignment Matrices show how the Conceptual Flow Diagrams in the Scope and Sequence align with the 7 Essential Ocean Literacy Principles and 44 Fundamental Concepts.

There is one matrix for each principle with the grade bands running horizontally across the top and the fundamental concepts for that principle running vertically along the left column. There are three levels of alignment.

Placing the cursor over the labels for the Fundamental Concepts in the left column will open a small text window while clicking on the label will open a screen with all the Fundamental Concepts for this Essential Principle.
