Notes:
Slide 12. WATER TEMPERATURE AND SALINITY AT LA PUSH AND KALALOCH
-Nothing really jumps out
-Conditions look to be similar at both sites
-Spikes could be due to tidal/freshwater influences
MESSAGE: INFORMATION IS VALUABLE, BUT NOTHING REALLY STICKS OUT
In order to determine what environmental factors may be involved with bloom propagation, water temperature and salinity were also measured at the time that samples were taken for toxin analysis.
The high point of the bloom period occurred in September (max on September 19). Looking at these data for that time period, no outstanding shifts in either salinity and temperature are observed. If indeed, temperature and salinity play a role, further investigations will be necessary to determine how these factors are involved. At both sites the water properties appear similar. Any spikes in the plots could be due to tidal or freshwater influences (run-off from rivers).
