Registration Information Page
Welcome to the registration process for the Classroom Exploration of the Oceans Workshops series. Please read this page before completing the registration. The link to register is at the bottom of the page.
This workshop series is designed for educators and other adults interested in teaching and learning about the oceans.
The workshop series is hosted on the virtual campus of the College of Exploration. This is a web-based computer system that uses software called CAUCUS for the majority of the activity. We use CAUCUS to organize and manage the presentations, the activities and everyone’s’ participation.
The registration is a self-registration process. You will create your own User ID and Password for the series on the CAUCUS system. You will need this UserID (or “username”) and password to log on to the series.
On the registration page you will also be asked for contact information, information about why you want to participate and demographic information. Please help us to help you by completing it fully.
Information Use The information collected in the registration process will be used only by the organizers and sponsors for the following purposes:
- to administer the workshop series
- to communicate by E-mail with you about this workshop series
- to provide a baseline for our own assessment and evaluation
- to inform you about these and future educational programs
- to obtain your mailing address for materials
- to help us tailor the content to the registered audience
These organizations are: the National Geographic Society, NOAA’s Office of Ocean Exploration, NOAA’s Marine Sanctuaries and the College of Exploration.
Materials The first 3000 registrants will receive a package of materials from the organizers. If you would like to receive these materials please provide your full mailing address in the registration page. If you do not fill-in the street address the materials will not be sent to you. The materials will be sent out in batches of 300 over the next nine months, Do not expect them immediately.
Participation We need to know about your anticipated level of participation. Please think about what is most likely. The choices range from full participation with contribution to the dialogue for all sessions to auditing just 1-3 sessions. If your require Graduate Credit your participation level is proscribed for eligibility and is detailed in the information on Graduate Credit
