Harmful algal blooms (HABs) are a highly publicized phenomenon in many coastal areas around the United States. These blooms have greatly affected both fish and human populations. The purpose of this discussion is to bring scientists and experts together to share information about HABs that impact the West coast of the United States in order to plan a coordinated effort to make accurate and relevant information available to professional, commercial, managerial, educational, media and lay audiences.
