Laurencia spp. is one of the red algae (Rhodophyta) found on our reefs. I know it looks more green than red but that is how the taxonomists classify it! There are several different species here and they are all bushy, low-lying plants attached to rocks (or dead coral) in shallow water.  This specimen is about 5 cm high.  It has no common name in Bermuda.
