Acknowledgements Many thanks to my
dissertation committee members: Dr. Charles Thomas (director), Dr. Brenda Bannan-Ritland, Dr. Clark C. Dobson, and Dr. Diane Goltz. They gave me the feedback, support, and coaching necessary to complete this momentous
task, and also inspired me indirectly through their own pursuit of excellence in the field of education. Also, thanks to the director of the Ph.D. program, Dr. Gerald Wallace, for his leadership and guidance. A
special thanks to my program committee: Dr. Wayne Thomas (chair), Dr. Clark Dobson, and Dr. Debra Sprague. Their personal guidance, scholarly advice, and caring attitude helped me through my the doctoral coursework and
comprehensive exams, and kept me focused. As well, I would like to send out a thanks to all the faculty at George Mason University, especially the professors and deans at the Graduate School of Education,
whose paths have crossed with mine. There is not enough room here to express the depth of my appreciation for the motivation to learn and to seek excellence from within myself that they facilitated. Since 1981, at
George Mason University, from my B.S. in Elementary Education, to the M.Ed. in Education Leadership, to this Ph.D. in Education, I have had the tremendous pleasure of interacting with true professionals and outstanding
human beings – what a prosperous, exciting, and enlightening journey it's been. Thank you. |
